Microsoft SharePoint is one of the most widely deployed collaboration servers used for share-level content distribution in the world today. With special links to the Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint is a de facto standard when your organization wishes to create a web-based information portal to manage content. The problem with SharePoint, as with many application servers built in the last two decades is that they were architected for Local Area Networks using a client/server model.
